How We Turned an Awkward Layout Into a Family’s Forever Home
A Dream Renovation Come to Life
When the homeowners of the Palmer Project first renovated their mid-century home, they hoped to transform it into a modern sanctuary. Instead, they were left feeling disappointed. The house still felt cramped, disjointed, and far from the warm, functional home they envisioned. That’s when they turned to Turnwood Design Group to rewrite their home’s story.
Our mission? To turn their dissatisfaction into delight by blending timeless Craftsman charm with a fresh, modern layout that perfectly suits their family’s needs.
Creating Space for Life
The transformation began with a bold addition to the main floor. By opening up the layout, we created a bright and inviting living area where the family could connect. The new design embraced the Craftsman aesthetic, with natural wood accents and custom millwork that brought warmth and authenticity to the space.
But the real magic happened upstairs. The addition of three bedrooms—including a stunning master suite—completely changed how the home functioned. The master bedroom became a luxurious retreat, featuring two spacious walk-in closets, a spa-like bathroom with double sinks, and a stand-in shower designed for relaxation. Two additional bathrooms—one on the main floor and another upstairs—ensured the whole family had space to thrive.
A Home That Works and Wows
Every detail of the Palmer Project was carefully considered, from the flow of the layout to the finishes that tied it all together. Built-in cabinetry added both style and functionality, while thoughtful touches like timeless lighting fixtures and durable materials ensured this renovation would stand the test of time.
Today, this home is not just a place to live—it’s a place to love. The once-cramped and uninspiring house has become a timeless masterpiece, perfectly blending historical charm with modern comfort. The Palmer Project is proof that a well-designed home doesn’t just look beautiful—it changes how you live.
